| Sorry, but I've been kinda busy. I started my second job, which is going REALLY well. A lot of my waitressing experience from 5 years ago is coming back :-p, and I'm doing quite well tip-wise. I made $200 this week, only working 3 tables and only working 3 nights this week! I had a $16 and a $17 tipper last night, which put me miles ahead of everybody else tip-wise. I would have made $100 last night, but on the weekends you have to tip out 2 bussers, 3 Server attendants, and the barkeep.
The coworkers love how I introduce birthdays...I use that "drill sgt." vocal ability, and get the whole restaraunt's attention. I've been asked several times to start off the birthday songs for folks
I got sick this week...so much so that I actually called in for a sub on Thursday ::gasp!:: Hehehe...yeah, I know...I took a sick day, and now the world is going to end!
New cell phone number!! I'm not putting it out here (because the parents read this for information since I don't talk to them anymore), but it's in my Facebook, or you can IM me for it.
Nathan came to visit yesterday!! He drove down Friday night to help us build sets for the spring musical. The students have looked at my sketches, and really like my Havana depiction (I left little notes for the art teacher, like "Spanish word for Cafe" over the sketch of the door) and think my Sewer scene is absolutely awesome! We got all of the flats and back braces built (many many thanks to Nathan and his techie skills), and I wound up with several bruises. The biggest ones are the 2x2-shaped one on my left leg...and the dime-sized one from where I decided to drill my knee instead of the wood.
I have to buy a new drill bit. I snapped the tip off of mine yesterday. I need a new battery, too...or at least one to sit on the charger while I'm working. I love being a techie!
I work Monday, Friday and Saturday this week. Friday and Saturday are the big money-makers, and Monday is 99-cent margarita night (another big moneymaker).
My choirs are going wonderfully! I set my concert dates next week!

| RULH evacuated for threat
By CARRIE CARLSON
Friday, March 9, 2007 5:23 PM EST
RIPLEY, Ohio -- Ripley Union Lewis
Huntington High School students were called out of the classroom Friday
afternoon after a teacher discovered a written threat implicating the
use of "explosives" at the school, said middle school principal,
Michael Kennedy, who was standing in for Dr. Gary Scarth, who was out
of town.
"A teacher had a concern," said Kennedy, "and it was legitimate."
Kennedy
said that since "safety is paramount" to school officials,
administrators made the decision to evacuate the building at about 2:30
p.m.
Since the threat came so late in the day,
students were moved away from the school, while law enforcement
officials blocked U.S. 52 for nearly an hour to allow students to board
buses and be picked up by parents at a safe distance.
The Ripley
and Aberdeen police departments, the Ohio State Police, the Brown
County Sheriff's Office and the Ripley Fire Department and Life Squad
were among those who responded to the scene.
Authorities
conducted a thorough search of the building, yielding no visible
threats. At about 4 p.m., officials were waiting for a bomb-sniffing
canine to come from Clermont County, to clear the scene.
Officials do not know who sent the threat at this time, but said they will continue to investigate the matter.
Even
though Kennedy said the school had a few concerned parents, he
complimented law enforcement officials for their ability to explain the
situation.
"Everyone was cool, calm and collected," said Otis
Kokensparger, RULH Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps instructor,
who was standing near the roadway to wait with students who were being
picked up by parents.
However, Kokensparger said a lot of
individuals were "rubber necking" to see what was going on. Many
emergency response vehicles surrounded the school property.
Kennedy
said that in his eight years of service to RULH, this is the first bomb
threat he had experienced. He was happy with the reaction from
administrators as well as local emergency response personnel.
"Everything went smooth," said Kennedy.
So, yeah, the busses were about 30 minutes late getting there. One of the other teachers and I wound up taking our bus groups out to the playground to let them blow off steam. They were originally saying they could be held up 2 hours or so.
And what kind of an idiot sends a bomb threat? On a Friday? Stupid kids...

| My Cinnamon Tea Ring (aka "Sin on a Plate" to the STE Boys) sold for $80 at the Youth Group Dessert Auction tonight When I said it was nicknamed "Sin on a Plate", the Pastor's hand shot up as the first bid. The whole room burst into laughter.
I'm feeling much better. Thank you to all of my friends who have supported me this week!

| I've been sending out letters to community businesses about the Box Tops/Campbells Labels fundraiser that my music classes are doing. I received an email from The Written Word, the local bookstore...
Hello Amy, I received your letter asking for community support of the music program at RULH Elementary. I think it is wonderful that you are getting involved with the community for the betterment of our children! The bookstore would certainly be able to help. The best thing for me would be to donate books, as I see that a music library is mentioned in your letter. If this is of interest and help to you, please let me know. I can select books for you, or you could e-mail a list of the ones you want. Thanks again for the invitation to help!
Whee! I'm so excited about this!! I can't wait to get my wish list together (I'd do it now, but my list is saved on my school computer :-p)

| Drew, my private French Horn student, got a 1 at contest today!! ::happy-dances::
By the way...Kentucky has weird rules for Contest. I was rather caught off-guard when the adjudicator gave verbal comments at the end of the solo. And no scales!!
Anyway, not making a certain phone call about this. They can read about my life here.
